We see the moon as the closest space body to the earth. However close is an ironical word to use for the distance between the earth and its only natural satellite, the moon. How far apart can they really be? The answer is - unimaginably far. Let us illustrate this in a big way by using planetary diameter.
The distance between the earth and the moon is said to be about 384403 km (238857 miles)
- Diameter of Mecury 3,032 miles (4,879 km)
- Diameter of Venus 7,521 miles (12,104 km)
- Diameter of Earth (excluded) 7,918 miles (12,742 km)
- Diameter of Mars 4,212 miles (6,779 km)
- Diameter of Jupiter 86,881 miles (139,822 km)
- Diameter of Saturn 72,367 miles (116,464 km)
- Diameter of Uranus 31,518 miles (50,724 km)
- Diameter of Neptune 30,599 miles (49,244 km)
- Diameter of Pluto 1,471 miles (2,368 km)
- The Diameter of all Planet (Except Earth) 237,601miles
The space is the right name for outside our planet because there is unfathomable space left void. I just can't take my mind of the awesome feeling.
